LOCAL FORECAST UPDATED AT 6:50 AM!

EVENING UPDATE:  The cold air is on the way and will be felt by tomorrow afternoon.  However, the Pacific jet stream may force a quicker warming trend then earlier thought.  Also, the storm for Friday night may be forced to the east rather than up the coast.

The key that I am looking for is the negative NAO to actually develop.  The forecast has been there, but the model forecasts for this feature has to this point not developed.  Without this feature, all the model runs in the world won’t produce any type of coastal low.  The Pacific may come into line though towards the end of the month.

TODAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY:  Sunny through this afternoon as high pressure departs.  Temperatures will rise into the mid 50’s to mid 60’s for highs.  Tonight, a strong cold front will approach the region with increasing clouds and scattered showers towards morning.  Temperatures will fall into the lower 40’s to lower 50’s for lows.  On Tuesday, the cold front will move through the region with scattered showers and falling temperatures behind the cold front passage.  Early highs will range from the mid 40’s to mid 50’s before falling through the 40’s.  On Wednesday, cold high pressure will follow with partly cloudy to clear skies.  Temperatures will range from the lower to upper 30’s for lows and lower to upper 40’s for highs.

THURSDAY THROUGH SUNDAY:  Partly cloudy conditions will continue on Thursday.  A developing area of low pressure will bring scattered rain and snow showers to the area on Friday afternoon.  The low pressure system will intensify on Friday night and Saturday morning with rain and snow expected, possibly heavy at times.  High pressure will return on Sunday with clear conditions.   Temperatures will moderate towards the end of the weekend as the cold air mass leaves the region.  Temperatures will range from the upper 20’s to upper 30’s for lows and lower 40’s to mid 50’s for highs.
