Line Of Thunderstorms Could Intensify
ByThe line of thunderstorms moving towards the forecast area has a high chance of intensifying due to the atmosphere ahead of these thunderstorms.
Currently temperatures are in the upper 70′s to lower 80′s with dew points in the upper 60′s to lower 70′s, which is a very warm, humid, and unstable atmosphere to move into. With plenty of low level moisture and heat content for these thunderstorms to fuel on, expect the line of thunderstorms to reintensify in the coming hour after a brief pulse down over eastern Pennsylvania. The areas most likely to see this intensification is over northern and central New Jersey, the northern metro of Philadelphia, and much of the New York City metro area.
Due to influences from the Atlantic, the atmosphere is slightly more stable over southern New Jersey and thus a lower potential for severe thunderstorms.
