NY NJ PA Weather Forecasts

An upper disturbance over the Ohio Valley will continue to move east this afternoon.  This disturbance will destabilize the atmosphere as the afternoon and evening progresses, which will produce showers and thunderstorms over eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the Hudson Valley.  The immediate coastal areas will be spared the most of the showers as the atmosphere is more stable along the coast.  

Expect showers and thunderstorms to develop this afternoon and evening over the Philadelphia and New York City metro.  The thunderstorms will remain below severe levels but will be capable of occasional lightning, small hail, heavy downpours, and wind gusts to 50 mph.
