A Very Wet Night Ahead
Tropical Storm Hanna is now moving over the Chesapeake Bay as heavy rainfall continues to fall from central Pennsylvania towards the coastline.
The heavy rainfall seen over Pennsylvania will very slowly move to the east over the entire forecast area over the 6 to 8 hours. The idea of 1/2 an inch to 1 and 1/2 inch rainfall rates over the forecast area through the evening hours will certainly support rainfall amounts well over 3 inches. However, I am growing very concerned about amount of rainfall that will accumulate over areas like Scranton, Allentown, Bethel, Lancaster, and Harrisburg through this evening where rainfall amounts are well over 3 inches already. These locations will certainly be under the threat of widespread flooding.
Meanwhile, the rain seen out side my location is falling fast and hard. The rain drops are rather large and visibility is falling to around 4 SM at times.
More updates through the evening
