Hanna Passing South Of Cape May
The center of Tropical Storm is passing just to the south of Cape May, New Jersey. The heaviest rain is now concentrating over eastern Pennsylvania to the New Jersey coast. Rainfall rates over central New Jersey, specifically over Monmouth, Ocean, and Burlington Counties, are around 1 to 2 inches per hour. The rainfall will remain heavy through the evening hours as Hanna passes over coastal New Jersey and towards western Long Island.
The structure of Hanna is quickly becoming extratropical and by the time Hanna pulls to the east of New Jersey, Hanna should look more like a mature Nor’ Easter than a tropical storm by this evening, which means the winds will become weaker at the center, but still strong overall.
