Local Forecast Discussions Updated

The local forecast discussion has been updated!

Good morning everyone!  Well, the forecast is all set and I’m ready for some NFL football today!  Personally, planning on going to one of my favorite bars and watching all the football games AND the New York Mets take on the Phillies this afternoon and evening.  I’m planning on cleaning someone out of a lot of chicken wings.

Anyway, today is going to be a lot drier than yesterday.  That’s for sure!  Rainfall amounts yesterday ranged from an inch and a half along the coast to as much as over FIVE inches in many locations.  The wind gusts were also pretty impressive reaching tropical storm strength.  I’ll post all the data from Hanna’s impact next.

As for the forecast for today, enjoy the weather because it is going to be beautiful!  High pressure will dominate through the next 48 hours before a cold front brings another threat of rain to the region.  The pattern has certainly changed and I think the as we move forward through September that the trough seen over the Great Lakes will establish itself over the East.

Here are some of the themes I covered in this morning’s technical forecast discussion.

1. Strong cold front to clear the air on Tuesday.

2. Very cool morning lows for the end of the week.

3. Warm front returns for next weekend.

By the way, check out the new NFL Football weather page that is now up!
