Scattered Snow Showers Tonight

A strengthening clipper (low pressure system) is moving through the forecast area and producing some scattered snow showers over the forecast area.  Specifically, southeastern Pennsylvania and southern/central New Jersey will continue to have a band of light snow showers move through the region tonight with a dusting possible over some locations as temperatures continue to fall.  What’s even more impressive is that this band of snow showers is being enhanced by Lake Effect off of Lake Erie!  Talk about a long distance connection.  This type of snow band is very unusual, but can happen under the right conditions, like tonight.

Overall, these snow showers will provide for an icy surprise for some on the roads by tomorrow morning.  Use caution when driving as black ice will be an issue for some.

As for the rest of the forecast area, more widely scattered snow showers will be possible, but not to the extent seen over southern and central New Jersey and southeastern Pennsylvania.
