High Pressure Brings Calming Influence Through Thursday

6:25 AM

Strong high pressure is building into the forecast area this morning with clearing skies and diminishing winds.  The pressure gradient will continue to weaken as the 1032 MB high pressure system moves east.  Temperatures will remain below normal for afternoon highs with temperatures in the mid 20’s to upper 30’s, however the weaker winds will lead to less of a wind chill effect.

High pressure will move over and to the east of the forecast area tonight through Thursday with partly cloudy skies and winds veering to the southwest.  Temperatures will moderate to near normal and then above normal levels by Thursday afternoon.  The southwesterly winds will increase in strength by Thursday afternoon as the pressure gradient strengthens once again ahead of a very strong cold front.
