A Return To Normal Temperatures Next Week
6:06 AM
The cold conditions of this weekend will be a bitter memory by the middle of next week. The negative NAO that supported the strong high pressure system over the forecast area and the cold Polar air mass, will weaken and retreat to the north for next week. A more zonal pattern will unfold over the CONUS, which will allow mild Pacific air back into the forecast area.
A series of disturbances will move through the forecast area through the week, producing partly cloudy conditions and a few scattered showers. The majority of the disturbances will not have much impact on the forecast area as the fast upper level flow will shear much of the disturbances, thus making the disturbances too weak to have any significant impact.
A stronger cold front will move through the forecast area on Thursday with widespread showers and possibly an isolated thunderstorm. The cold front will move slowly through the forecast area with showers lingering into Friday morning.
Temperatures through the week will be near to slightly above normal.
