Tropical Weather Update for Tuesday, June 9, 2009
7:38 AM
The tropical Atlantic remains quiet this morning. The disturbance that was developing over the western Caribbean has now been
completely sheared apart and is no longer a threat for any locations in the Atlantic. Meanwhile the strong upper low over the central Tropical Atlantic is slowly starting to move east, but continues to produce strong westerly shear over much of the Atlantic, which will inhibit any potential for development for the next 48 hours. The Gulf of Mexico also is expected to remain quiet as dry air and a persistent northwesterly upper level wind will prevent any disturbance from developing.
