Tropical Weather Update for Friday, June 19 2009
6:44 AM
The Tropical Atlantic remains quiet this morning with no sign of development in any location. Strong southwesterly to westerly shear
dominates the central Caribbean to the African coast, which will continue to inhibit any type of potential development through the weekend. As for the Gulf of Mexico, dry air behind a cold front has produced clear conditions throughout the Gulf of Mexico with no sign of low pressure anywhere in the region. Increasing clouds, showers, and thunderstorms will remain a threat over the wester Caribbean and off the East coast of the United States as a cold front remains stalled over these locations. However, any development along this stalled frontal boundary will be slow.
