Strong thunderstorms over Pennsylvania approaching from the west

Strong thunderstorms currently over western Pennsylvania will continue to move towards the east overnight. By tomorrow morning, showers and thunderstorms will move through the forecast area in the early to mid morning. A period of heavy rainfall will potentially cause significant delays for the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas during the morning rush hours. These showers and thunderstorms will race ahead of the cold front.
As the showers and thunderstorms exit in the morning hours, skies will rapidly clear and then the potential for more potent thunderstorms will return for the afternoon hours.
