Boat and beach report for Sunday, July 5 2009

Clouds will increase through the day as a an area of low pressure will pass to the south of the coastal waters.  A few isolated showers will move through the Delaware Bay and southern New Jersey in the late afternoon, otherwise dry conditions can be expected.  Weak high pressure will build into the region tonight and on Monday with partly cloudy skies.  A cold front will move through the region on Tuesday with scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Winds will be from the west around 5 to 15 mph through this evening.  Tonight, winds will veer to the north around 5 to 10 mph.  On Monday, winds will back to the southwest around 5 to 10 mph and remain from the southwest around 5 to 10 mph on Tuesday.

Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 70’s for highs this afternoon.  On Monday, temperatures will fall into the lower 60’s for morning lows and rebound into the lower 80’s for afternoon highs.  On Tuesday, temperatures will fall into the lower 60’s for morning lows and rebound into the mid 70’s to lower 80’s for highs.

Water temperatures will range from the upper 60’s to mid 70’s through the period.

Wave heights will range from 2 to 4 feet through the period.
