Tropical Weather Update for Monday, July 13 2009
7:04 AM
A series of troughs is moving through the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean this morning. These troughs are producing southwesterly shear ahead of their advance, which will continue to limit any potential for tropical development over the next 48 hours.
Conditions are much more favorable over the eastern Caribbean through the central Atlantic as wind shear is weak and will not inhibit development. While no disturbance has shown much sign of development, convection has flared up of late over the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone, which may lead to potential development in this area in the next few days. However, for the short term no significant tropical development is expected.
