Tropical Weather Update for Tuesday, July 14 2009
7:00 AM
A series of tropical disturbances are showing more signs of development this morning as they exit the African coast this morning. While no significant development is expected the next 48 hours, the fact the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone is acting up a bit does mean that more active tropical weather is not far off.
Meanwhile, a trough over the western Caribbean continues to produce shear throughout much of the Caribbean Sea, which is inhibiting any potential for development this morning and likely for the next 48 hours.
An upper level ridge over the Mississippi Valley also continues to produce eastern to northeasterly wind shear along with a push of dry air into the Gulf of Mexico, which will keep any potential of tropical development rather small.
