Clear skies with a few scattered clouds can be expected this morning through this evening as high pressure dominates the coastal waters.  Clouds will increase tonight with scattered clouds by morning.  A weak disturbance will approach the coastal waters on Monday afternoon with widely scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Scattered to broken cloud cover can be expected on Monday night with a few lingering showers and thunderstorms in the evening.  By Tuesday morning, scattered cloud cover can be expected with a return of scattered showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Winds will be from the southwest around 5 to 10 mph along the coast and light and variable over the open waters today.  Tonight, winds will be light and variable.  On Monday, winds will veer from the northeast to southeast around 5 to 10 mph.  Winds will continue to increase from the east and southeast around 5 to 15 mph on Monday evening to 10 to 20 mph on Monday night.  On Tuesday, winds will be from the east and southeast around 10 to 20 mph.

Temperatures will rise into the lower 80’s for highs this afternoon.  On Monday, temperatures will fall into the lower to mid 60’s for morning lows and rebound into the upper 70’s to lower 80’s for afternoon highs.  On Tuesday, temperatures will fall into the lower to mid 60’s for lows and rebound into the upper 70’s to lower 80’s for afternoon highs.

Water temperatures will range from the upper 60’s to lower 70’s in the northern New Jersey coastal waters through the Long Island Sound; lower to mid 70’s in the central and southern New Jersey coastal waters, and mid to upper 70’s in the southern New Jersey coastal waters and the Delaware Bay.

Wave heights through the period will range from 2 to 4 feet through the period with higher swells in and around strong thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
