High pressure over the eastern Great Lakes this morning will produce tranquil conditions for much of the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas through tomorrow. While disturbances will keep the threat of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the forecast, most locations will be dry for the most part. The thunderstorms and showers will be capable of very heavy downpours, occasional lightning, and wind gusts up to 50 mph. Temperatures will be near normal with highs in the upper 70′s to mid 80′s and lows in the mid to upper 60′s.
A series of disturbances will move through the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas Wednesday on through Sunday with a threat of showers and thunderstorms each afternoon. A few thunderstorms could reach severe levels with thunderstorms capable of very heavy downpours, wind gusts over 50 mph, large hail, and frequent lightning. Temperatures will range from the mid 60′s to lower 70′s for lows and mid 80′s to lower 90′s for highs with humid conditions.
