Hey Steve -- Just wanted to take a moment to post a long overdue THANK YOU!!! I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge, experience, and thoughts with us all on this blog. I have learned a great deal from taking the time to read your thinking, approach, and methods. Just wanted to let you know that it is greatly appreciated!!!
Love your website and the way you explain the complexity of weather forecasting in layman's terms. Great job!
Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the great weather site and your new videos are very interesting and informative.I am going to cancel accuweather .
I only use it to watch JB anyway.
Keep up the great job.
Just wanted to drop you a line of thanks and encouragement. I've always had an interest in weather, but never took it farther than a personal hobby. Finding your website a couple of months ago was great. I like the way you keep things real, local and professional. I check in at least once a day, on average, and trust what you have to say more than what might be on the Weather Channel or a NYC station. Even though you're a Mets fan, I'm still on your side!
Keep up the good work.

NY NJ PA Weather is the best weather service in our area! As a novice weather buff I have been following Steven DiMartino's forecasts online for a few years and have been totally impressed with his knowledge of weather and accuracy of his forecasts, so much so that now I am a Platinum member of this service. There is no hype-only very accurate forecasting. Steven will always take the time to provide a private forecast for you when planning a special event. He helped me out when planning a graduation party and heavy rains/ thunderstorms were predicted. He told me a week ahead to get a tent and 2 days before the party he suggested I change the party to my rain date because even a tent wasn't going to help!!! This made my decision so much easier because I trust his forecasting abilities. I was able to let everyone, including the caterer, know in advance. His seven day forecasts and long range forecasts are extremely useful and reliable. They will truly help you out during hurricane season and for winter weather events. I check out many otherweather services on a daily basis and trust me when I say nobody even comes close to matching Steven's abilities. Whenever there is an extreme weather event in our area Steven goes to live forecasting which is not only interesting but valuable so people can get prepared. If you are in need of a weather service for planning private parties, corporate events, school closings or just for your own personal use you will be happy with choosing Steve DiMartino's NY NJ Pa Weather! Membership rates are so inexpensive but worth every penny!

To Steven DiMartino
I would like to say a few words in regards to the excellent service you continue to provide to me and many others in your membership portion of your Website Service, as well as, the public reporting on Examiner.Com.
You continue to provide both excellent daily forecasts and learning through your business. The daily, monthly and seasonal outlooks that you prepare along with the outstanding live coverage in storm mode situations ,whether winter or spring / summer convective seasons has been a real asset in preparing my daily routines.
You have provided and continue to enhance your business model with new and exciting ways of getting the Northern Mid Atlantic prepared for sunny mild days to the very stormy and potentially threatening impacts of weather for a metropolitan area that spans from Philadelphia to NYC and all the spaces in between this Garden State .
I have been extremely pleased with the service and time you devote to your clients and having the ability of reasonably scaled levels of membership has allowed the affordability of having your very own personal weather man.
While we are all for the 60 second general breakdown of the simple forecast via tv..radio or internet these days, you provide a unique balance between the forecast and the science behind it. And you do it bright and early every day. The small business model works well even in a large metropolitan area with a real hands on and personal approach through teaching. Sure there are services out there with 50-100 employees ,,then the larger scale outlets (names withheld) and our great guys at the government offices providing the details as well, but with your service, you get what you say..”the weather with no hype”.
I have and will continue to point others to your site.
After all since there is always a 100% chance of weather why risk it …
I’m prepared as well as many others and a growing list of your first full year in business as well!
Congratulations and thank you for creating this site and for the loyalty that you show your members. It does not go unappreciated.
I will continue to spread the word…
Looking at all the 12z guidance and especially the MOS, it doesn't even show a break in the heat. Sunday is lower humidity but it comes right back with dews forcasted near 70! No records (upper 80's) but still hot and humid! The euro which nailed this past heat wave is even more on the torrid side. Another excellent call on your part!
Thank you again for your excellent analysis and hard work! I have been following nynjpaweather for close to 8 months. Your expert analysis allowed me to escape Philadelphia just in time to avoid the awful storms of July 25th 2010 and board an earlier Amtrak train back home to CT. You're proving just as valuable during the summer as you were during the winter! I consider myself one of the fortunate ones to have found nynjpaweather and will continue to pass the word on about your "must read" analysis for the nynjpa area!
I have enjoyed your write ups since I first read them on Eastern Wx.Keep up the good work and good luck in this new venture. Thank you.
I wanted to thank you for all your hard work running this website. I am a bronze member and I really enjoy the site and the weather updates. I really appreciate the weather updates in advance of upcoming severe weather. I drive for a living so those alerts are important to know for my job. Keep up the good work !!!
Hi Steve...just wanted to let you know I am very impressed with your knowledge and non-hype of weather related events. I belive that you take this seriously in the fact that you are driven by not only guidance, but your due diligence in making the most accurate predictions possible. It is quite evident that you are not a self-promoting meteorologist, but rely on knowledge and experince in making the most accurate forecasts possible. To be honest I am an Accuweather Pro subscriber and I am tired of the hype and model worshiping displayed by Bastardi and Margusity. Their credibility was once very good, but something along the way has changed. If it is obvious that there is going to be a storm, how could a trained meteorologist change his forecast solely based upon a single model? (GFS-Margusity). Also, I wonder how a meteorologist can pound away each day saying it will be warm in January and boast about him saying this since the fall, but as the weather evolves, backpeddle to say "well the January thaw is relative to the intense cold we had in December". As far as I am concerned their credibility is shot and unfortunately people like myself (untrained weather enthusiasts) eventually realize the motivation behind the hype, etc. is money / subscriber driven.
As I said when I first joined your site....keep it real and the subscribers will increase along with your business. Keep up the good work.
So far, between your winter forecast to the post xmas storm to yesterday's storm, you have done well. No hype, just weather and physics...I love your style...thrilled to be a premium member!
I really enjoy being a premium member of your site. As a weather (and snowstorm) enthusiast without the mathematical and scientific knowledge, you make understanding weather patterns and the dynamics of a storm very easy to understand. You always give concrete reasons and examples to back up your forecast and you never hype (as do other sites). In fact, I cancelled my Accu-Weather Pro subscription of $200.00 and signed up for your $50.00 premium membership not because of the money, but because I had grown tired of busted forecasts, extreme hype, model hugging and all the mumbo-jumbo that went along with it. So not only is your site more economical, your information and forecasts are more reliable and you don't hug models! You explain the psychics behind a storm and you practice meteorology, not modelology and this is proven in your excellent track record, which speaks for itself. Keep up the great work! I intend on being a premium member for years to come!
I had approached Steve months ago to inquire about the possibility of detailed marine forecasts for both inshore and offshore waters of NJ. Steve promptly responded and told me he would be happy to take on this challenge.
Being an avid saltwater fisherman, I have subscribed and relied on many different websites and companies. Often traveling roughly 100 miles off the coast of NJ to reach fishing grounds requires the need to have confidence in the forecast. However, over the years, I have been generally disappointed with the accuracy and reliability of these providers.
Having previewed his abilities in offshore marine forecasts for the summer of 2013, I was able to commit to trips and feel confident in the forecast verifying. Having had used Steve in the past also for his renowned winter storm forecasting, I knew that Steve would be putting in large amounts of thought and skill into these forecasts and that is exactly what was delivered.
Offshore wind forecasting is a very tricky task. I have found Steve to be the best person to use when planning marine activities. I recommend this specific niche forecasting tool to all local marine boaters, fisherman, sailors, divers etc. You will not be disappointed.
Being in the snow & ice control industry staying ahead of the competition is key, but staying ahead of mother nature could mean the difference between loss revenue for our clients, or slip and falls.
The reason we chose NYNJPA Weather is because Steve teaches and shows the physical drivers with the weather, he educates his followers, and makes it fun. That's why we continue to rely on NYNJPA weather!!!
My wife calls me weather obsessed, but I like to think I'm just overly curious. The current lack of tropical activity is another reason NYNJPA Weather has become a trusted source for me. I follow several local and national weather forecasters on Twitter, Facebook, G+ as well as websites. Steve DiMartino is the only one that I remember saying that the African drought and associated dust cloud may have a major impact on the NHC tropical forecast. He talked about how these patterns don't break down quickly and the surface pattern does not show the physical changes that are needed to happen to change the pattern. Two other meteorologist said that the long range models show an active wave train setting up, as of August 3, 2013 that has not happened.
Although I'm out of Steve's forecast area I love the balanced analysis and education . I also like that his is not afraid to admit when his forecast don't verify. If weather was easy to predict everyone would be right all the time. I love that he don't just read the models like many others, he explains the physics as to why he agrees or disagrees with a particular model. Too many other forecasters just focus on models madness and not the education that separates the pros from the amateurs.
NYNJPA Weather forecast area might be slightly away from me but the information and analysis is worth the money.
Steve is a hardworking individual that excels at the consulting side of meteorology. Instead of varying from model to model run, he diagnoses what the model is showing and using physical terms teaches in a manner that is easily understood throughout his followers. This is something that very few do with such confidence and accuracy as him. As a partner he is very fair to his word and will do anything to ensue the success of GEA. We thoroughly enjoy working with him, and look forward to perusing new endeavors that will accelerate both GeoEnvironmental Atmosphere and NYNJPA Weather in the future.

This is the most trustworthy weather forecasting for the NYC area. NYNJPAweather assesses several models, makes judgments based on experience, and issues level-headed no-hype forecasts. Steve called Sandy's path & effects more accurately than anything else available online or in the mainstream media, and that's why I trust this service.
Definitely the go-to guy for weather. Always accurate! People ask me to check with \"my weather guy\" for the most up to the minute forecasts.
First and foremost, Steve is accurate. He provides the most comprehensive, well explained analysis of upcoming weather events, whether average or catastrophic.
His steady scientific approach, explained clearly in laymen's terms, got me through Hurricane Sandy with the right information needed to plan appropriately. Because of his careful forecasting, I realized that my area would be under a mandatory evacuation over 24 hours before it was ordered by the police, and I was able to secure my home, pack unhurriedly and leave calmly and even locate a pet-friendly hotel with plenty of time to spare.
Simply put, Steve is the "Go To Guy" for accurate weather forecasting.
THE most reliable weatherguy out there, period, end of story. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
If you want to get the objective, fact-based scoop on your regional weather - Steve is your guy! No spin and hype - ever. And Steve uses the underlying physics and science to develop his forecasts, he's no model hugger that drifts with each run! Great service, and a great guy!
