Powerful cold front puts end to warm conditions

A warm front will continue to lift northward this morning with low clouds, fog, and drizzle.  While the steady rain will hold off until the late afternoon and evening hours, damp conditions can be expected along with visibility remaining below four miles.  Temperatures will continue to rise into the upper 50′s to lower 60′s for highs throughout the New York City and Philadelphia metropolitan areas by this afternoon.

A powerful cold front will move through the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas tonight with periods of moderate to heavy rain and winds shifting to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will crash into the lower to mid 40′s for lows by tomorrow morning.

High pressure will take hold by tomorrow morning with clearing skies and winds from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will struggle in the mid to upper 40′s over the interior and upper 40′s to lower 50′s along the immediate coast.

High pressure will remain in control Wednesday through Saturday with excellent weather conditions and near normal temperatures.  Scattered cloud cover can be expected through the rest of the week with light and variable winds.  Temperatures will range from the upper 20′s to mid 30′s for lows and mid 40′s to lower 50′s for highs.

On Sunday, an area of low pressure will approach the region with periods of rain.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 30′s for lows and upper 30′s to mid 40′s for highs.
