A Near Miss, And A Blustery Weekend

As snowflakes fall across some portions New Jersey, Long Island and extreme southeastern Pennsylvania, we should look at the chance of snow showers to continue through the day today as a near-miss storm begins to strengthen off of the coast. The only thing we will see is some snow showers before a powerful arctic cold front makes its way through the region and brings us much colder temperatures than the last few days. Look for highs today across the region in the upper 30’s. Lows overnight tonight will drop down to the lower 20’s for most as the chance of snow showers subsides mainly by midnight. However as the storm strengthens and moves up the eastern seaboard we should see winds increasing today into Sunday, where by Sunday we should see northwest winds in the 15 to 25 mph range with stronger gusts. Look for scattered clouds on Sunday and high temperatures in the upper 20’s to lower 30’s. With those winds that will feel quite cold! So will overnight low temperatures as they dive down into the lower to mid 10’s.

As the new work week starts, we start off with George Washington’s birthday on Monday. It will be a beautiful day for all across the region, as scattered cloudiness continues and high temperatures bump up into the lower to mid 30’s. Overnight expect low temperatures in the lower to mid 20’s. An upper level disturbance could bring some wintry precipitation to the region Tuesday morning, then as the sun heats the atmosphere up that should change over to rain as the day progresses. Look for highs on Tuesday in the lower to mid 40’s, and lows overnight to hit the mid to upper 20’s under mostly cloudy skies. The remainder of the week looks great, as we should see mostly sunny skies for Wednesday and Thursday with another chance at precipitation on Friday. Highs each day will be in the mid to upper 30’s and lows in the 20’s. That’s all for now! Have a great day everyone!
