YOUR METEOROLOGIST: Steven DiMartino

Anyone that knows me, knows I’ve been studying and forecasting the weather since I was a child.  In high school I was the morning meteorologist for Freehold Boro High School in Freehold, New Jersey.  In 1998 I started my college career at the State University of New York at Oswego where I had the job of studying Lake Effect Snow and hone my skills in mesoscale forecasting.

After graduating in May of 2002, I went to work for Weatherbank, Inc in Oklahoma where I forecasted for national and international energy, transportation, and media clients for six years.  I became the lead forecaster for the Northeastern and Mid Atlantic United States and worked on several interesting and challenging projects.

In the Spring of 2007 I decided to move on and take on a new challenge, which is NY NJ PA Weather!  Today, I am basically living my dream of building my own weather consulting company while forecasting for my favorite weather location in the world, the northern Mid Atlantic!  I specialize in winter weather forecasting, especially in mesoscale influences.

Besides the weather, I love working out and following sports.  I’m a die hard Mets fan!  I’m also very passionate about politics and current events.
