As the clipper is bombing out to the east of Long Island, a strong area of snow showers is driving southeast through western and central New Jersey with light to moderate snowfall.
Currently, snow is falling over Freehold, interrupting an intense leg work out I was doing (squating 300 lbs is hard work!), and the [...]

The new coastal low pressure system is really starting to take shape right over southern New Jersey and the immediate coastal waters, specifically around Atlantic City.
Through the rest of today, rain and snow showers will change over to all snow showers throughout the entire forecast area. Temperatures will fall through the afternoon through the [...]

While there is a lot of uncertainty for the end of the week, model guidance is at least converging on the idea of a strong Alberta Clipper moving through the forecast area on Wednesday.

High pressure will slide through the forecast area today [...]

High pressure building in from the west in combination with the intense area of low pressure over the Canadian Maritimes will produce a strong pressure gradient over the forecast area, which will produce strong northwesterly winds. With temperatures today [...]

If you haven’t gone outside this morning, let me give you fair warning. It is down right cold out side. I had to take a double look at the Calender and make sure I didn’t fast forward into January rather than late November. Temperatures throughout the forecast area are in the 20’s with a northwest [...]

Yet another coastal low is developing off the coastal waters of the Delmarva Peninsula, however due to a lack of blocking over the North Atlantic this low pressure will be too far east to produce any substantial precipitation for the forecast area. However, it is interesting to not how yet another low pressure system has [...]

So is everyone welcoming an early visit by winter? If not, then you are not going to enjoy the forecast discussions today nor much of December. More on that later.
Cloudy conditions are expected through much of the day as a weak clipper moves towards the Mid Atlantic coast. The low currently (6:50 AM) is over [...]

Today is going to be the coldest day of the late fall so far.
The forecast area will continue to be under the influence of the cyclonic flow at 500 and 850 MB, which will send weak disturbances through the forecast area through Friday.
For today, a break between disturbances will support generally clear skies [...]
