High pressure that will move from the Great Lakes through the forecast area this weekend will provide clear and dry conditions through Saturday and Sunday for the forecast area. Temperatures will remain below normal at a rate of 8 to 12 degrees, so continue to expect chilly conditions.

The end of next weekend will have some moderation, however before we get to that point, temperatures will average 8 to 12 degrees below normal for highs from Thursday through Saturday.

The closer we get to this pattern change for this coming week, the more the models have changed and twisted the forecasted outcome. This time, the GFS keeps the two disturbances separated and produces a coastal storm on Thursday evening, although weak, and then the stronger cold front on Friday.

A strong upper low will take shape over the Great Lakes this weekend, which will support strong high pressure building over the forecast area. This Polar high pressure system will have the support of strong confluence and convergence over the central Great Lakes with ridge extending into the forecast area on Sunday and Monday.
