Tropical Update for Thursday, June 4 2009
Posted by: | Comments9:17 AM
The tropical Atlantic remains quiet this morning as strong westerly upper level winds dominates much of the tropical Atlantic. The
strong westerly winds are producing shear throughout the Tropics which will continue to inhibit development of any tropical system. Once again, I am going to keep an eye on the Gulf of Mexico this weekend. Shear is expected to weaken as the cold front now along the Texas coast will stall over the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico on Saturday. With the waters over the Gulf of Mexico currently favorable to support tropical development, there is a possibility, though slight, for some mischief to develop. Otherwise, no tropical development is expected over the next three days.
