This morning, a strong Sub Tropical disturbance is driving out of the Mississippi Valley and moving towards the Tennessee Valley. This disturbance will eventually reach the southern Mid Atlantic coast by tomorrow morning to bring portions of the Philadelphia metropolitan area a mix of snow, sleet, and rain.

A strong disturbance along and ahead of a cold front over the Ohio Valley produced a cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms which impacted much of the forecast area. These thunderstorms were capable of wind gusts over 55 mph, heavy downpours, and frequent lightning.

A line of strong to severe thunderstorms moved through eastern Pennsylvania and souther/central New Jersey yesterday evening. These thunderstorms developed due to a strong mid level and upper level disturbance, which helped destabilize the atmosphere last night along a stalling cold front. These thunderstorm produced frequent lightning, strong wind gusts, and heavy downpours.
