Steady, heavy rain has moved into the forecast area much faster than I originally thought last night. I expect this rain to continue through the day for the entire Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan area. As you can see to the southwest, there is plenty more moisture on the way.

Tropical Depression 8 dissipated yesterday afternoon and is only a weak wave this morning. Strong shear from the southwest ahead of a deepening trough over the central Atlantic will force the remnants of Tropical Depression 8 to race to the northeast into the central Atlantic.
