The pleasant weather conditions from yesterday are about to come to an end. So is my confidence in model guidance, by the way. However, before I get to that, let’s take a look at the precipitation that is charging towards the forecast area.
High pressure currently centered over eastern Connecticut and Rhode Island, will continue [...]

The rainy pattern that much of the forecast area has experienced this June is taking a short break, as high pressure positions itself over Maine this morning. The position of the high pressure system will still force a marine air mass in place over the region, which is supporting the low clouds this morning. [...]

A disturbance along the stationary front is approaching the forecast area this evening with an area of showers and thunderstorms. Given the heavy rain that has fallen, flood warning have been issued for parts of southeastern Pennsylvania this evening.

As you can see with the radar, precipitation is quickly developing over southern Pennsylvania through the Ohio Valley while there is clearly a low level [...]

Hello everybody!
I’m actually on vacation from the “other” job through this week.
Today, as many of you know, is the start of major league baseball. I am a die hard (especially the past two seasons) Mets fan and will be going to the Mets Blog Get Together at the Public House in New York City. [...]

The pattern for early April has brought a good dose of rainfall to the forecast area and the pattern looks to continue through next weekend as well.
The lasting influences of the storm for today will continue to support a waning northwesterly flow over the forecast area on Thursday with generally clear skies and cool [...]

The low pressure system that will bring heavy rain to the forecast area on Monday will have a consistent influence on the forecast area for much of next week. The upper low associated with the storm will park itself over Quebec through Wednesday before lifting towards the north Atlantic. The cyclonic flow around this [...]
