The main discussions for individual tropical systems like TD 15 and TD Nana can be found on the tropical weather page.
It is interesting to see how a lot of these tropical systems are tracking into the central Atlantic over the next several days. The transfer of latent heat energy from the Tropics towards the central [...]

There are two main features to keep an eye on in the Tropical Atlantic.
The first feature is located roughly 750 miles from the Lesser Antilles. The satellite images this morning shows that the low level circulation is much better organized and showers and thunderstorms are rapidly redeveloping around the center of circulation. High pressure [...]

Well all the usual forecast products are done including the technical forecast discussion. I hope you enjoy them!

Tropical Storm Bertha continues to develop this afternoon into a strong Tropical Storm. Bertha has increased sustained winds to 60 mph with pressure dropping to 998 MB down 2 MB in the past 6 hours. Bertha will likely become a hurricane in the next 24 hours.
As I was writing earlier, I honestly believe that [...]

Tropical Storm Bertha formed in the eastern Atlantic this afternoon. As discussed this morning, then tropical depression two and now Bertha has a very well developed out flow with little in the way of shear seen inhibiting the development of this tropical storm. As Bertha moves to the west, expect Bertha to strength close to [...]

I have a new poll that I want to conduct! What do you think of the future of this tropical season? Will the season be active like in 2006 or slow and disappointing (for some) like 2007? Well the poll question is on the left and ready for your vote!

The National Weather Service has issued the yearly tropical forecast with normal to above normal tropical weather expected. Obviously, no one knows exactly where each storm will form and develop, and anyone that says they do know is pulling your leg. However, based on the overall development of the pattern the past 30 to 60 [...]
